One Fly Ride pet is enough: 1 FR + 3 no-potion pets cost 409 instead of 400, and the neon still comes out Fly Ride.
A neon needs four full grown pets of one kind; a mega needs four of those neons. That's 16 pets and weeks of tasks, so we always ask "is it worth it" before "how". The calculator answers the first question, the text below the second.
Check whether a neon is worth making
Pick a pet and a potion version. The calculator shows two comparisons:
- four normal pets against one neon;
- four neons against one mega.
If the neon is worth more than the four normals, fusing pays off. If less, you're better off trading the pets one by one or as a set. We once fused four pets that together were worth more than the neon they became — the most annoying L we ever took without a single trade.
One Fly Ride pet is enough for an FR neon
If at least one of the four pets has Fly or Ride, the finished neon inherits it. So you don't need four FR pets: one FR plus three no-potion pets will do. Run both versions in the calculator — the gap can be big.
Make a neon in four steps
- Collect four pets of the same kind. Hatch them, trade for them, or both.
- Grow them to Full Grown. Stages: Newborn, Junior, Pre-Teen, Teen, Post-Teen, Full Grown. Higher rarities need more tasks.
- Go to the Neon Cave. It's under the main bridge connecting Adoption Island and the Neighborhood.
- Place the pets on the four glowing circles. After a short animation the neon appears in the middle.
If a pet isn't fully grown, the game tells you the pets must be fully grown. You can't lose a baby pet by mistake here.
Fuse a mega neon from four neons
It's the same cave. You need four neons of one kind at the Luminous stage. Neon ages have their own names but take the same tasks per stage:

A mega neon cycles through colors. There's nothing beyond mega: after that only the friendship level keeps growing.
Speed up aging — but never trade for Age-Up Potions
An Age-Up Potion counts 30 tasks at once. You get them from friendship levels, from aging up pets and from some events. It doesn't work on a Full Grown pet.
The trap: Age-Up Potions can't be traded. If someone offers to "sell" you age potions or add them to an offer, it's a scam.

How do you make a neon pet in Adopt Me?
Grow four pets of the same kind to Full Grown, take them to the Neon Cave under the main bridge between Adoption Island and the Neighborhood, and place them on the four glowing circles. They fuse into one neon pet.
How many pets do you need for a mega neon?
Sixteen. A mega neon takes four neons, and each neon takes four full grown pets of the same kind. The neons have to be grown to Luminous.
Is it worth making a neon in values?
It depends on the pet. Some neons are worth more than four normals, some less. The calculator above shows the difference for the pet and potion version you pick.
Do all four pets need to be Fly Ride?
No. If at least one of the four has Fly or Ride, the neon inherits it. The same works when you fuse neons into a mega.
What are the neon ages?
Neons have their own age names: Reborn, Twinkle, Sparkle, Flare, Sunshine and Luminous. They match the normal stages from Newborn to Full Grown and need the same number of tasks.
Can I speed up aging for a neon?
Yes, with an Age-Up Potion: it counts 30 tasks at once. It doesn't work on a Full Grown pet and can't be traded.
Which pets can't be made neon?
Pet Rock, Scoob, Pumpkin, Burtaur and the MFR Sandwich. Every other pet can become a neon.
