Most Expensive Pets in Adopt Me — Top Values for October 2026
The most valuable Adopt Me pets by today's values, from number one down. Switch the version to see the top neons or mega neons.
The top of this list has barely changed in years, and the reason is simple. The first rows belong to 2019 pets you can no longer get in the game: Bat Dragon, Shadow Dragon, Giraffe, Frost Dragon, Owl. No new copies appear, and nobody wants them any less.
See where the top pets came from
The expensive pets entered the game three ways, and all three closed long ago:
- Event currency. Bat Dragon sold during Halloween 2019 for 180,000 Candy.
- Robux. Shadow Dragon (Halloween 2019) and Frost Dragon (Christmas 2019) cost 1,000 Robux each and are off-sale.
- Rotating eggs. Giraffe hatched from the Safari Egg, Owl from the Farm Egg, both 3% legendaries. Those eggs left the Gumball Machine in 2019 and 2020.
That's the rule for anyone hunting the next big pet: a pet gets expensive when it leaves the game, not on release day. We once traded a solid pet for fresh hype and watched the new one lose half its value within a week. New pets are for keeping, not for flipping.

The normal list and the mega neon list are different lists. A mega takes 16 identical full grown pets, so the mega neon of a top pet is worth many times the normal one. For "what's the most expensive pet, period", look at the mega version with Fly Ride.
Tell the most expensive from the rarest
The developers don't publish how many copies of each pet exist. So "rarest" nearly always means "lowest hatch chance".
Of everything still obtainable, the record belongs to the Amethyst Penguin — 0.05% from the Gemstone Egg. Tiny odds, but the egg is open to everyone every month, so rarity doesn't equal price here. Compare: 48.6 for the penguin against 316 for a Bat Dragon.
Don't trust a "free" expensive pet
At Admin Abuse the developers sometimes hand everyone a temporary copy of a top pet: a mega neon Shadow Dragon in November 2025, a Bat Dragon in September 2026. It vanishes the moment you leave and never reaches a trade.
The trap goes beyond Admin Abuse. The pricier the pet, the more scams around it: "I'll show you my Shadow if you send yours first", fake websites, copies of the game with "free" dragons. For a pet from this list, we'd only use the normal trade window and watch it until the last second. How the schemes work — in Adopt Me Scams in 2026: Every Trick and How to Avoid It.
Questions
What is the most expensive pet in Adopt Me?
Whichever sits first in the list above. For a long time the top spots have been shared by the same 2019 pets: Bat Dragon, Shadow Dragon, Giraffe and Frost Dragon. Their mega neons are worth many times more.
What is the rarest pet in Adopt Me?
The game doesn't publish how many copies exist. Of everything you can still get, the Amethyst Penguin has the smallest chance — 0.05% from the Gemstone Egg. The most expensive pet and the rarest one aren't necessarily the same.
What is a Shadow Dragon worth?
A no-potion Shadow Dragon is worth 259 today, a neon 591 and a mega neon 1,684.
Why are 2019 pets so valuable?
They left the game long ago: no new copies appear, and some old ones vanish into the Pet Releaser. Demand doesn't drop — new players and collectors both want them.
Can I still get a pet from the top list?
Only by trading. The top pets came from eggs or event shops that closed years ago.
Do they give expensive pets at Admin Abuse?
Sometimes everyone gets a temporary copy — a mega neon Shadow Dragon or a Bat Dragon, for example. It disappears when you leave the game and can't be traded.
