A tier list answers "is this pet worth anything?" faster than a table. No numbers to compare: two pets in the same tier make a roughly even one-for-one. Two tiers apart, and somebody is overpaying a lot.

Find your pet and look at its neighbors

Tiers come from the same values as the main list, plus demand — how readily a pet gets taken in trades. Find your pet and look at who sits next to it: those are the pets you can realistically swap it for without adds.

The version toggle works here too. The neon and mega of the same pet can land in different tiers, because the market treats them as different pets.

Don't confuse tier with rarity

Rarity is a pet's class in the game: it sets egg odds and how many tasks the pet needs to grow up. A tier is what the pet is worth on the market today.

A brand-new legendary can sit low

A legendary from a running event is still available to everyone, and there are lots of them. While it can still be bought or farmed, it rarely holds a top tier. An old ultra-rare from an egg that left years ago can easily outrank it.

The top is mostly pets you can't get anymore

Nearly the whole top of the list is retired pets. No new copies appear and some old ones disappear into the Pet Releaser, so they tend to climb slowly but for a long time.

Use the tier list when there's no time to count

It's handy in three situations:

• You got an offer for a pet you don't know. Check its tier and you instantly know if it's small change or a serious pet.
• You're looking for an upgrade. Neighbors in the same tier are fair one-for-ones; one tier up is an upgrade target with an add.

Watch the movement between tiers

The arrow next to a pet shows where it moved over the week. One step down is normal market life. A pet that jumped two tiers in a week is usually riding hype — we'd only take one like that to keep, not to flip.

The trap: tiers round things off. Two pets in the same tier can differ in value noticeably, and in a big trade that adds up. Check the exact numbers in the trade calculator before you accept.
