Adopt Me Potions: What Ride, Fly and Age-Up Potions Cost and Do
The Ride-A-Pet Potion costs 130 Robux and the Fly-A-Pet Potion 255 Robux, and both make a pet rideable or flyable forever. In trades a Ride Potion is worth 0.38 right now, and a Fly Potion 0.68.

Ride and Fly: price and what you get
A Ride Potion lets your pet carry you; a Fly Potion lets it fly. Both are permanent: the descriptions literally say "permanently rideable" and "permanently flyable." A pet with both is FR (Fly-Ride) in trading slang; with one it's F or R.
| Potion | Shop price | Trade value |
|---|---|---|
| Ride-A-Pet Potion | 130 Robux | 0.38 |
| Fly-A-Pet Potion | 255 Robux | 0.68 |
Both are sold in the Sky Castle. Until April 30, 2024, Ride cost 150 Robux and Fly cost 295. Potions also carry over: if even one of the four pets you combine into a neon had Fly or Ride, the neon gets it too. Same for mega neons.
How FR changes a pet's value
On cheap pets, the potions are most of the price. Compare a plain Dog with no potions — 0.003 — to an FR one — 0.15. You're basically paying for two potions with a dog attached.
On expensive pets it flips. A Shadow Dragon with no potions is 259, FR is 214. On top dragons the no-potion version is often worth more: there are fewer of them, and collectors hunt for them.
That's where the classic trading mistake comes from: someone offers FR pets and compares them to your no-potion pets as if they were equal. Check each version separately in the trade calculator — FR, F, R and no-potion are priced differently. We wouldn't swap FR one-for-one for the "same" pet without potions before checking both versions: on cheap pets FR is worth more, on top pets it's the other way round.
Age-Up potions: Tiny, Age-Up and Super Age-Up
Age potions add completed tasks (needs) to a pet. How many tasks a pet needs from Newborn to Full Grown depends on rarity: 25 for a common, 183 for a legendary.
| Potion | Tasks it adds | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Tiny Age Potion | 3 | pet age-up rewards, Guide achievements |
| Age-Up Potion | 30 | Friendship levels, age-up rewards, baits |
| Sugar Skull Potion | 45 | sold for 60 Robux in Halloween 2024, now trade-only |
| Super Age-Up Potion | 183 | sold for 225 Robux, now trade-only |
The regular Age-Up Potion can't be traded. The usual way to get it: a Full Grown pet fills its Friendship bar, and every 30 tasks give one potion. It also drops from Ice Soup Bait at 12.5% and shows up at Admin Abuse now and then — for example on September 5, 2026.
The Super Age-Up Potion was on sale for just one week, May 8–15, 2026. One of them takes a Newborn legendary straight to Full Grown: 183 tasks is exactly its whole path. Current value: 1.1.
No age potion works on eggs or Full Grown pets.
A common only needs 25 tasks, so a single Age-Up Potion grows it in one go. For a legendary the same 30 tasks are about a sixth of the way. We'd spend them on pets you're collecting for a neon, where you need four Full Grown copies.
Other potions: teleport, grow and temporary effects
Not every potion is about pets. Some affect your avatar, some change a pet only for a while.
- Teleportation Potion — five teleports home or to the Nursery. It left gifts in March 2019 and is trade-only now, worth 0.79.
- Grow Potion (395 Bucks) — makes your avatar bigger, not your pet.
- Big Brew Potion and Small Sip Potion — your pet gets bigger or smaller for 10 minutes.
- Bonus Bucks Potion and Bonus Aging Potion — 1.2x Bucks or XP for a pet for 15 minutes.
Getting rid of a potion effect
Fly and Ride never come off — they're permanent. Temporary effects wear off by themselves: Big Brew, Small Sip and Translucent Tea last 10 minutes. We'd just wait it out.
The trap: "give me your pet, I'll feed it a potion"
The most common potion scam. Someone shows a Ride or Fly Potion and offers to make your pet FR. The only condition: trade them the pet, they'll feed it and give it back. The pet leaves, so do they.
The fix is simple: ask them to trade you the potion instead. You can feed it to your pet yourself. If they refuse, it's a scam. More schemes in Adopt Me Scams in 2026: Every Trick and How to Avoid It.

Questions
How much is a Ride Potion worth in Adopt Me?
It costs 130 Robux in the Sky Castle (150 until April 30, 2024). In trades a Ride Potion is currently worth 0.38.
How much does a Fly Potion cost?
255 Robux in the Sky Castle or the shop menu (295 until April 30, 2024). Its trade value is 0.68.
How do you get Age-Up Potions?
The regular Age-Up Potion can't be bought or traded. You get it from Friendship levels on Full Grown pets, from pet age-up rewards, from Ice Soup Bait and at some Admin Abuse events. The Super Age-Up Potion sold for 225 Robux for one week in May 2026 and is now trade-only.
How do I get rid of potion effects on my pet?
Fly and Ride are permanent — the item description says so. Temporary potions like Big Brew (bigger pet) or Small Sip (smaller pet) last 10 minutes and wear off on their own.
Can I make my pet fly without a potion?
Not permanently. But at some Admin Abuse events every pet becomes rideable and flyable for a while — it happened on August 22, September 12 and September 26, 2026.
Does a neon keep Fly and Ride?
Yes. If at least one of the four pets you combine has Fly or Ride, the neon or mega neon inherits it.
